The seat is currently held by Republican state Rep. Jerry O’Connor who is not seeking reelection. The district favors Republicans. O’Connor was first elected to the Assembly in 2022 and won reelection in 2024 by 20 percentage points. No Democrats filed to run in the district and Ryan did not face a primary opponent.
