Transit director Trevor Jung, a Racine Democrat, faces Jim Croft, a Racine Republican, in the general election. Neither Jung nor Croft faced a primary opponent. The seat is currently held by Republican state Sen. Van Wanggaard, who is not seeking reelection. The 21st District is viewed as a potential flip opportunity for Senate Democrats, as Kamala Harris and U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin won the district in 2024.
