Why should voters elect you?
Hardworking people in southeast Wisconsin deserve a fair shot at opportunity and a fair share from Madison. Having served as an alderman and now as Racine’s director of transit and mobility, I have firsthand experience solving issues that affect families every day. My campaign is focused on five pillars for growth: talent, training, transportation, technology, and tourism. My plan is to attract and retain talent by investing in Racine’s assets, strengthen training pathways to in-demand careers, build a reliable transportation system that connects people to opportunity, support innovation and technology for future growth, and invest in tourism that supports small businesses. With strong grassroots support and growing momentum, I am running a campaign centered on listening, accountability, and delivering real results for the 21st District.
What is the top issue in your district? How would you address it?
My top priority is making life more affordable for working families through the economic revitalization of District 21. In an era of high inflation and rising costs, Wisconsinites are left stretched too thin by housing, childcare, transportation, and everyday expenses. Using state government as a tool to strengthen economic opportunity, I’ll prioritize policies that make housing more attainable, expand access to affordable childcare, and improve transportation options so people can reliably get to work and school without financial strain. There is significant work ahead to ensure families are not left shackled by the cost of living, but by addressing affordability across these core areas, we can support working families, strengthen our local economy, and ensure southeast Wisconsin is a place where hard work brings prosperity.
How should Wisconsin government operate differently than in the past?
Wisconsin government should be more focused on responsiveness, accountability, and delivering tangible results for residents. Too often, state policy moves slowly or becomes disconnected from the day-to-day realities facing working families. Going forward, state government should empower locals and prioritize practical solutions that directly improve affordability and opportunity, while making it easier for people to access the services and programs that already exist. That includes reducing unnecessary barriers, improving coordination between state and local partners, and ensuring decisions are guided by clear outcomes. At its core, Wisconsin government should operate with a greater sense of urgency around the challenges people are facing right now, especially rising costs and economic pressure on families across the state.
What is your favorite fun Wisconsin history fact?
One of my favorite fun facts about Wisconsin history is actually about my hometown. Racine was once known as both “Invention City” and “The Machine Shop of the World.” By the early 1900s, Racine had become a global center of innovation and manufacturing, producing products used around the world, producing more patents per capita than anywhere else in the U.S. during that time. Companies like J.I. Case revolutionized agriculture, InSinkErator invented the garbage disposal, Twin Disc became a leader in industrial transmissions, and S.C. Johnson grew into an internationally recognized household brand. This spirit of hard work and invention attracted generations of entrepreneurs and workers from across the globe, helping make Racine and Wisconsin grow.
