Q&A with the Candidate

Why should voters elect you?

Work ethic and I recognize the need for elected officials to serve everyone they represent. In short, turn the temperature down and work together to provide an effective and efficient government.

What is the top issue in your district? How would you address it?

Funding for infrastructure and education. Infrastructure is under-funded, part of the issue is increasing costs another is irresponsible borrowing. Wisconsin currently has $440 million in debt for past road projects. 7.2% of the gas tax collected goes toward debt service rather than maintaining roads. Regarding education, the school funding formula favors schools in more populated areas and leaves our per pupil funding in rural Wisconsin being shorted. Our students are worth exactly the same from a funding standpoint as any other student in the state.

How should Wisconsin government operate differently than in the past?

Within the last year, the state government agencies have the ability to create laws/regulations without legislative oversight. This is a problem. When laws/regulations are put into place, Wisconsin residents should have the ability to support or reject those who enacted the regulations. Bureaucrats at state agencies can't be held accountable by voters due to this recent ruling, this needs to change.

What is your favorite fun Wisconsin history fact?

Not sure about it being a fun fact, but Wisconsin was the first state to enact an income tax...ugh.
