Why should voters elect you?
Voters should elect me for the state Assembly because I can bring an outside perspective to Madison. I proudly served this country as an infantry officer in the United States Army and have spent the last several years working in the manufacturing industry. I have seen firsthand what businesses and residents are facing in the current economic environment. That experience has shaped my belief that government should work with businesses and workers, not against them. I want to change that by bringing a practical, common-sense voice to the state Assembly that focuses on solving problems, cutting through bureaucracy, and strengthening Wisconsin’s economy for the long term. I will support policies that make Wisconsin more competitive, support job growth, and increase public safety.
What is the top issue in your district? How would you address it?
Affordability and the cost of living are the top issues not only in Waukesha, but across Wisconsin. I hear it constantly when I am out knocking on doors and talking with residents. Families are working hard, but too much of their paycheck is being taken by rising costs and taxes. To address this, we need to lower taxes and allow Wisconsinites to keep more of their hard-earned income. Wisconsin currently has a budget surplus in Madison, and we should use that as an opportunity to provide meaningful tax relief. That means reducing property taxes, personal income taxes, and corporate income taxes to make our state more competitive and affordable for working families.
How should Wisconsin government operate differently than in the past?
Wisconsin is the 13th most regulated state in the country with 165,000 regulations on the books. That, combined with the fact that we have the 12th highest corporate tax rate, 9th highest personal income tax rate, and 8th highest property taxes in the country is not enabling Wisconsinites to thrive. The primary way we need to operate differently than in the past is to reshape our regulatory environment and reduce the tax burden. We can be a state where entrepreneurs want to start businesses and companies want to invest, produce, and hire here. By creating a more competitive economic environment, we can ensure the current and next generation of Wisconsinites have the opportunity to prosper.
