Why should voters elect you?
I am running to represent Assembly District 61 to deliver practical, results-driven leadership for every resident — today and for future generations. As school board treasurer, I helped uphold our commitment to not raise the tax levy while maintaining strong educational outcomes. I am a community advocate focused on addressing family costs, supporting high-quality schools, and improving access to healthcare. I am also an active volunteer, often found at community events, coaching youth, and supporting my children’s activities. I am committed to responsible governance, fiscal accountability, and building a stronger, more affordable District 61 for all.
What is the top issue in your district? How would you address it?
Affordability is the top issue in our district, and working families need real relief now. I would address this by making sure we use the tax dollars we already collect more wisely, cutting wasteful spending, and prioritizing essential services that directly support our schools and communities. We should make every dollar count so taxpayers are not forced to cover extra costs just to keep community services functioning. By optimizing spending and focusing on what truly matters, we can protect public resources, strengthen local services, and reduce the financial burden on Wisconsinites. Responsible budgeting is not about doing less for our communities — it is about doing better with the resources we already have.
How should Wisconsin government operate differently than in the past?
Wisconsin government should embrace a new Wisconsin Forward ideal — one that ensures government works for every resident. We must prioritize sustainable, commonsense policies that support people at every stage of life, from our youngest to our oldest. That means strengthening education, expanding access to healthcare, and supporting both rural and urban communities alike. Just as importantly, the legislature and governor must work together and listen to one another — regardless of party — to deliver real results. When we come together around shared goals and practical solutions, we can create opportunity and stability across our state and ensure every Wisconsinite has the chance to thrive.
What is your favorite fun Wisconsin history fact?
Colby cheese is a classic American cheese that began in Colby, Wisconsin, where Joseph F. Steinwand, at 16 years old, developed it in 1885. He created it at his family’s cheese factory by washing the curds with cold water, which made the cheese milder, moister, and softer than cheddar. The town of Colby gave the cheese its name, and it quickly became known as one of Wisconsin’s signature dairy products. Colby’s success shows Wisconsin’s strong 19th-century cheesemaking tradition that continues to today. Colby remains closely tied to Wisconsin’s dairy heritage and history.
