Federal immigration authorities have arrested hundreds of green card holders since January 2025.

The vast majority of legal permanent residents arrested in the latter years of the Biden administration and during the first year of the Trump administration landed in custody while passing through ports of entry — often airports.

The numbers reflect a national tally of U.S. Department of Homeland Security detainees flagged as legal permanent residents, sorted by month of apprehension in DHS detention records. The dashed line marks President Donald Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, 2025.
