The race for attorney general is a rematch between the incumbent, Democrat Josh Kaul, and Republican Eric Toney, Fond du Lac County’s district attorney. In 2022, Kaul defeated Toney, 50.6% to 49.3%. Kaul won his first four-year term in 2018, defeating Republican incumbent Brad Schimel, 49.4% to 48.8%. Toney was first elected Fond du Lac county’s top prosecutor in 2012.
