Q&A with the Candidate
Why should voters elect you?
I am running to bring a workers-first agenda to the State Assembly. Too often, I see politicians say they fight for the working class, but end up turning towards deep pocketed wealthy donors and corporate interests. I believe everyone should have a voice in their state government, and I want to be that voice and fighter for my District.
What is the top issue in your district? How would you address it?
Affordability and cost of living. The state needs to take an active role in bringing prices down and protecting consumers from price gouging. This happens through policy shifts in the legislature followed by action through various state agencies. The state also needs to invest more in affordable housing and low-cost alternatives to the private market.
How should Wisconsin government operate differently than in the past?
The state government needs to focus its attention on corporate exploitation and strengthen its connection to the working class by fighting for issues that matter most to them. This includes passing protections for labor unions, passing cannabis reform, expanding BadgerCare, among other popular initiatives.
What is your favorite fun Wisconsin history fact?
Wisconsin's "Badger" state name doesn't refer to the animal but is a nod to the 1820s lead miners who dug and slept in tunnels to stay warm.
