Why should voters elect you?
Voters should elect me because I bring a unique combination of leadership, experience, and community service to the Wisconsin State Assembly. As an educator, nonprofit founder, former state government public servant, and community advocate, I have spent my career solving problems, building partnerships, and improving lives. I am running to be a strong voice for residents of District 11. I believe government should be accountable, responsive, and focus on results that improve public safety, strengthen educational opportunities, support economic growth, and enhance the quality of life for working families and seniors. I will listen, lead with integrity, and put the interests of the community ahead of politics.
What is the top issue in your district? How would you address it?
The top issue in District 11 is improving the overall quality of life for residents. Whether it is access to economic opportunity, strong educational systems, safe and vibrant neighborhoods, or responsive government, people want communities where they can thrive. Throughout my career as an educator, nonprofit founder, and public servant, I have focused on helping individuals and families overcome challenges and achieve success. I will bring that same commitment to the State Assembly by listening to residents, building partnerships, and advocating for practical solutions that strengthen our neighborhoods and improve everyday life. My focus will always be on people, not politics.
How should Wisconsin government operate differently than in the past?
Wisconsin government should operate with greater transparency, accountability, and collaboration than it has in the past. Residents deserve a government that listens to their concerns, communicates openly, and focuses on solving problems rather than engaging in political division. I believe elected officials should be accessible, responsive, and committed to serving the public interest. Government works best when leaders seek common ground, make decisions based on facts and community needs, and remain accountable for results. My approach is rooted in public service, not politics. I will work to ensure that government is more responsive to citizens, more transparent in its actions, and more focused on improving the lives of Wisconsin families and communities.
What is your favorite fun Wisconsin history fact?
One of my favorite Wisconsin history facts is that Wisconsin became known as the "Badger State" not because of the animal, but because early lead miners in the 1820s and 1830s often dug tunnels into hillsides and lived in them during the winter. People said they lived like badgers, and the nickname stuck. I enjoy this story because it reflects the determination, resilience, and ingenuity that have long characterized Wisconsin residents. Throughout our state's history, people have worked hard, adapted to challenges, and built strong communities. Those same values continue to define Wisconsin today and are worth preserving for future generations.
