Q&A with the Candidate

Why should voters elect you?

Voters should elect me because I have a proven nonpartisan approach to common sense solutions for everyday folks in Wisconsin. I am a dad, husband, small business owner and local elected official. We regularly work together for the residents of Green Lake County.

What is the top issue in your district? How would you address it?

After serving on the county board as a supervisor for the last three years, I have some ideas, but want to hold listening sessions throughout the 39th to learn more about the issues that affect the entire 39th District — not just Green Lake County. For example, food share programs, how are they being funded? Also, how are we protecting our natural resources? Unlike my opponent, I am not a career politician, and I believe in serving my constituents not the other way around. I look forward to connecting with a wider audience of concerned stakeholders.

How should Wisconsin government operate differently than in the past?

Career politicians are fighting to keep themselves in power and limit voting and citizen input. So, term limits should be implemented for elected officials. Another idea is to publicly fund elections and take all of the unregulated money and contributions out of the process. That way, candidates would be more informed on the issues. Hopefully!

What is your favorite fun Wisconsin history fact?

Ironically, as a Democrat, I think that the Birthplace of the Republican Party being the 39th District is super interesting! Of course, the party of today is a lot different than it was in the past. And Lincoln who most likely not be a part of (or even recognize) what is going on in the State or nationally — but it is still a fun historical fact in WI history.
