Q&A with the Candidate
Why should voters elect you?
I was successful in the 1990s serving 10 years in the Assembly. My talents, experience and leadership can bring us all back together for the people of Wisconsin. I'm the best candidate to unite, not divide. I passed many great laws because I worked with both Republicans and Democrats like saving the Wolf River from the Exxon Mine, deregulating small rural cemeteries in Wisconsin, and making Highway 10 safer. My father was the senator from this district, so I learned well and became a leader. I retired from the corrupt dirty political world to raise my children, and I’m now able to get back to work to help save the world for them and future generations. Enough is enough, time to bring Bill back.
What is the top issue in your district? How would you address it?
The Wolf River flooding. The Army Corps of Engineers need to dredge ditches to take the water so it does not flood our communities like it did again this year. I have a great history with the Wolf River, I love that river and will do all I can to solve this problem so our citizens can relax knowing that the flooding has finally been fixed.
How should Wisconsin government operate differently than in the past?
Unity not divisive fighting among our elected officials. It's time to get the big money and corrupt politicians out of our government. Our politicians are bought and paid for by the greedy special interests and enough is enough. It's time to elect people like Bill Lorge who will vote in the Legislature to put the people back in power. Vote for the candidates who want to represent the people. Wisconsin was known as a good clean State regarding our government and our elected officials, but that era is long gone. Time for a real change. Campaign finance laws need to be changed to get the dirty money out. I've seen it first hand and I know where to focus to win back our state.
What is your favorite fun Wisconsin history fact?
"Fighting Bob" La Follette is someone I studied my whole life, and my family and the La Follette family were great friends, even in 1974 when my father Sen. Gerald Lorge and Bronson La Follette ran against each other for Wisconsin Attorney General. Later, in the 1990s I bought "Fighting Bob" La Follette's beautiful mahogany sideboard, which I still have today.
