Why should voters elect you?
I’m a retired physician and 20-year resident of Central Wisconsin. My family includes young adults, a sibling with a lifelong disability and elderly parents. I spent my career diagnosing, caring, and advocating for patients as they navigate the most difficult and life-threatening challenges. I’ve seen firsthand the direct impact of social and economic challenges on people’s lives. I know what happens when healthcare systems fail, roads crumble, and schools cannot provide for our children. I spent the last 10 years of my career working in Central and South America building healthcare infrastructure, educational programming, and quality assurances. I collaborate, team build, and I’ve witnessed the good and bad impact of legislation on people. I’m bold and collaborative. I know how to get things done.
What is the top issue in your district? How would you address it?
Cost of living is the top issue. To address this, we need to make healthcare is affordable by expanding Medicaid and creating a public health insurance option so folks are not bankrupt by illness. We need to fully fund public schools, Public Safety and the maintenance of our roads and bridges so property taxes can go down and constant referenda stop. We need to close tax loopholes for wealthy corporations not paying their fair share yet rely on our hospitals, schools, and roads for their businesses and profits.
How should Wisconsin government operate differently than in the past?
Republicans and Democrats must collaborate. The best policy is the result of collaboration between representatives with different backgrounds and opinions, but a common goal. I will work with anyone who wants to solve a problem for the people of Wisconsin. I will always put people before politics.
What is your favorite fun Wisconsin history fact?
When I think of my home in central Wisconsin, I think of rolling hills, pristine lakes, fishing, wild turkey, deer, eagles, bear, marshes and birds. It is the most beautiful place on earth. I love that Earth Day began in Wisconsin shortly after I was born by Senator Gaylord Nelson. And I love that it is celebrated around the world today. I look forward to honoring that legacy with the preservation and protection of the natural beauty of Wisconsin.
