Why should voters elect you?
Voters deserve someone who understands their challenges and will work with anyone (regardless of party) who is dedicated to making life better for everyone in Wisconsin. I'm focused on progress not political games.
What is the top issue in your district? How would you address it?
Education is my top issue as fixing that fixes so much more. Wisconsin has slid in educational rankings in both secondary and college education. Reasonable investments in education improves life for everyone in the State. That was what the Wisconsin Idea was all about. If we want to "Make Wisconsin Great Again," we need to start by supporting strong public education.
How should Wisconsin government operate differently than in the past?
For decades, the state has failed to live up to it's promise to fund 2/3 of the cost of public education. We have also been so focused on what party an idea comes from, some don't seem to see any merits in an idea that didn't come from their party. I will be focused on keeping our promise to local school districts and to supporting good ideas no matter where they come from.
What is your favorite fun Wisconsin history fact?
While it's a bit dark, I enjoy the fact that a place of sun, fun, and friendship (that is, Door County) was named for the Death's Door appellation given the passage at the tip of the peninsula. I am also a big fan of Wisconsin great progressive labor history.
