Why should voters elect you?
Voters should elect me because I bring real-world experience, not a political career. I grew up on a Wisconsin dairy farm, have owned and operated businesses, created jobs, and understand the challenges facing farmers, small businesses, and working families. I will fight to lower taxes, protect constitutional freedoms, support law enforcement, defend parents' rights, and keep our communities safe. I'll listen, work hard, and make decisions based on common sense and what's best for the people of Senate District 1 — not special interests. I'm running to be your voice in Madison and to help ensure Wisconsin remains a place where families, businesses, and future generations can thrive.
What is the top issue in your district? How would you address it?
The top issue facing Senate District 1 is affordability. Families, seniors, farmers, and small businesses are all feeling the pressure of rising property taxes, increasing utility and insurance costs, and the high price of everyday necessities. We need to make Wisconsin more affordable by providing meaningful tax relief, reducing unnecessary regulations that drive up costs, supporting family farms and small businesses, and creating an environment where good-paying jobs can grow. My goal is to help ensure that people can afford to live, work, raise a family, and retire right here in northeast Wisconsin.
How should Wisconsin government operate differently than in the past?
Government should operate more like a well-run business. It should live within its means, balance budgets, eliminate wasteful spending, and focus on delivering results for the people it serves. Every tax dollar should be treated with respect and spent wisely. We should measure success by whether government policies improve the quality of life for our constituents, strengthen our economy, and create opportunities for families, farmers, seniors, and small businesses to succeed. Government exists to serve the people — not the other way around —and it should be accountable, efficient, and focused on solving problems with common sense.
What is your favorite fun Wisconsin history fact?
One of my favorite Wisconsin history facts is that our state is the birthplace of the Republican Party. In 1854, citizens gathered in the Little White Schoolhouse in Ripon to stand against the expansion of slavery and affirm the principle that every person is entitled to the fruits of their own labor and the blessings of freedom. I think it's inspiring that such an important moment in American history began right here in Wisconsin. It reminds us that ordinary citizens, working together with courage and conviction, can make an extraordinary difference.
