Why should voters elect you?
As a business professional, wife, and mother of two, I have experience in many facets of life that are headlining issues in politics. From lowering taxes to helping daycares survive so professional women can continue to thrive in the workplace, I understand the issues northern Wisconsinites face. My experience in the legislature and on the county board has helped me build relationships not just in my community, but throughout the state. We’ve funded our roads, given historic shared revenue increases, and I supported the coverage of 3D mammograms — reducing healthcare costs and saving lives. The work we have done sets the tone for the work we have yet to do, and I look forward to getting back to work for my constituents in the north.
What is the top issue in your district? How would you address it?
The constant increase and instability of property taxes. The first thing is to get rid of the 402 year property tax increase under Evers administrations line-item veto. Wisconsinites deserve to know what to expect to pay for property taxes, and their bills should never shock them. The current administrations abuse of the line-item veto has to go.
How should Wisconsin government operate differently than in the past?
Gov. Evers line item veto, increasing property taxes for 402 years, opened up a new discussion. With the advancement of AI, it's feasible for a bad government official to utilize an AI program to construct the state budget in a manner that suits him, rather than the people of Wisconsin the way it is intended. While I am a big fan of less government, we do need stronger safeguards against the influence of AI, and I believe getting rid of the line-item veto is important in protecting our budgeting and our agencies from manipulation.
What is your favorite fun Wisconsin history fact?
Wisconsin has more lakes than Minnesota. Take that, Minnesota.
